Introduction to Copper Engraving

You will learn the basics of copper engraving, how to transfer the pattern, how to engrave/tool the copper, and the basic finishing of the piece. Each student will finish a 5X7" engraving during this class. The morning class kit will include a 5X7" piece of five mil copper, a 7X9 piece of foam core board and a set of 3 stylus. If you plan to attend the am and pm classes you may purchase both the morning and afternoon kits for $32.00.

Advanced Copper Engraving

Using the lessons learned in the morning or your existing skill set, learn how to make a tooling project POP. This class will enable students to start an 8X10" tooling and take it home to finish. Techniques for finishing the piece including antiquing will be discussed. This will set your work above the others and will enable students to create works of art worthy of gifts or even sales.

New students for the afternoon session will need to purchase the afternoon kit to include an 8X10" piece of five mil copper, a 10X12" piece of foam core board and a set of 3 stylus.

Dying With Indigo

In this class, students will learn the basics of dying fabrics with reduced indigo crystals. We will dye three dish towels and a tee-shirt. This class could get messy so wear old clothes or a paint shirt and bring a good pair of cleaning gloves.

Kit cost: $20.00, everything will be furnished by the instructor in your kit.
