Nalbinding Mittens

Learn how to create a pair of warm fingerless mittens using an ancient fiber art technique. Nalbinding: from Danish or Old Norse for needle-binding. Your kit will include a special nalbinding needle made by the instructor, detailed instructions, wool yarn and adornments. Alethea will teach you how to make the "Oslo" stitch for this project. 

Students bring: magnifying glasses and a scissor.

Fun with Wool Ornaments

You will learn a variety of techniques as you create these fun wool ornaments. Bonnie will demonstrate wool applique, needle felting, quilling, and wool feather branches and you choose the ornaments you'd like to make! 3-4 can be made in class, depending on your choices. 

Students bring: scissors that will cut through paper and wool, hand sewing needle, a stash of embroidery floss or pearl cotton in red, greens, cream, gold, tans. Bonnie will have needles and pearl cotton for purchase in class if you don't have the colors needed.

Rug Hooking with the Oxford Rug Punch Tool

Bonnie will teach this simple technique for creating beautiful "hooked" rugs as you make a small, seasonal, 7" project that can be finished in a variety of ways. Finishing techniques will be demonstrated in class. Beginner level class, no sewing skills are required. All materials and tools needed with be supplied for use in class by the teacher, just come and have fun!

Felted Flowers

In this needle felting class Lanee will teach us how to use the wet felting method to create both a lily and a rose. All skill levels are invited to explore this craft. All supplies are included in the kit. Just bring your inner creativity and enthusiasm!
